Privacy Policy
Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy governs the collection, processing, and storage of data by Certilum LLC, registered at 1209 MOUNTAIN ROAD PL NE STE N, ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87110. As a platform designed for professional preparation—functioning as an engine for certification, evaluation, and readiness—we prioritize the integrity of your personal and cognitive data. By using our Single Page Application (SPA), you consent to the practices outlined herein.
1. Data We Collect
- Identity and Advanced Authentication: Beyond your name and email, we collect data from social login providers (OAuth), nicknames, and your user security configurations (including the activation of Two-Factor Authentication - 2FA).
- Cognitive and Exam Telemetry: We collect far more than just final scores. We record your complete exam session history, specific answers, questions left blank (unanswered), time spent per question, mini-test attempts, and metrics used to calculate your Readiness Target.
- Subscription Data: While we do not store your credit card numbers (this is handled entirely by our payment processor), we do store your billing history, subscription cycle status, and receipts.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Grading and Progress Engine: We use your exam information to feed our adaptive grading algorithms and dynamically calculate if you have reached the required level to take the official certification exam (e.g., achieving "Master" status).
- Generation of Public Credentials: We utilize your name and results to generate Public Badges and Certificates. Due to the nature of our service, upon obtaining a certification, you consent to the generation of a public URL optimized with OpenGraph metadata for sharing on platforms like LinkedIn.
- Transactional Communications and Playbooks: We use your email to send automated reminders, study guides (playbooks), session expiration notifications, and security alerts.
3. Third-Party Sharing
We integrate with the following categories of third parties via APIs to provide our services:
- Payment Gateway (Merchant of Record): We share and validate data with LemonSqueezy, who acts as our payment processor and official seller of our subscriptions.
- Rewards Partners: For our referral program, we share the minimum necessary information (such as name and email) with the Tremendous API to issue, fund, and send gift cards to users who achieve successful referrals.
- Cloud Infrastructure: We utilize cloud database providers (e.g., secure cloud hosting providers and relational databases) and external email delivery services to host and operate our platform securely.
4. Security, Integrity, and Retention
- Active Protection: We employ real-time security mechanisms, including session expiration due to inactivity, token invalidation, and encryption in transit to protect your data.
- Certificate Retention Policy: We retain your exam approval data indefinitely, even if your subscription expires. This is vital to maintain the public validity and verifiability of the certificates you have obtained in the past, unless you explicitly request the total deletion of your account.
5. User Rights and Data Control
- Control from the App: You can manage your personal information, adjust your preferences, and view your billing history directly from the "Security Settings" and "Profile" sections of the platform.
- Revocation of Publicity: If you decide that your certification badge should no longer be public, you may adjust your settings to revoke its public visibility or request its removal.
- Data Subject Requests: For requests regarding data deletion, export, or privacy concerns that cannot be resolved through the app settings, please contact our Data Protection Officer at support@certilum.com.

Terms of Service
1. Nature of the Service and User Accounts
- License of Use, Not Ownership: You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access our assessment platform and playbooks. You do not own the content or the proprietary evaluation algorithms.
- Account Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the security of your credentials. Because we issue public certifications (Badges) under your name, account sharing is strictly prohibited. If we detect concurrent logins or suspiciously disparate IPs in short periods, we reserve the right to immediately suspend the account and revoke any earned certifications.
- Information Accuracy: For a certification to be valid, the name provided upon registration must be your real name. Identity falsification is not permitted and will result in the invalidation of any credentials.
2. Subscriptions, Billing, and Merchant of Record
- Role of LemonSqueezy:LemonSqueezy, LLC acts as our Merchant of Record. This means customers purchase from LemonSqueezy, not from Certilum LLC. LemonSqueezy handles payment processing, tax collection and remittance, and manages refunds and chargebacks. Customers will see "Lemon Squeezy" on their payment statement. For billing inquiries, customers may contact us at support@certilum.com.
- Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annually) unless explicitly canceled prior to the renewal date.
- Cancellation and Refund Policy: You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings dashboard. Cancellation prevents future charges. While subscription fees are generally non-refundable and we do not offer partial or prorated refunds for unused time within a billing cycle, users may request a review of their case for a full refund within 30 days of the initial purchase in accordance with our satisfaction guarantee. All refund requests, eligibility, and processing are governed by and handled through LemonSqueezy's standard customer refund guidelines. Access will remain active until the end of the paid period if a refund is not issued.
- Price Changes: We reserve the right to modify subscription prices, providing users with at least 30 days' advance notice.
3. Intellectual Property and Usage Restrictions
- Content Protection: All content, including but not limited to exam questions, answers, playbooks, source code, design, and our proprietary evaluation and grading algorithms, is the exclusive intellectual property of Certilum LLC.
- Anti-Scraping Policy: The use of bots, spiders, scrapers, or any automated or manual methods to extract, copy, or bulk-download our exam question bank is strictly prohibited.
- Prohibition of Distribution and AI Training: You may not publish, sell, share on forums, or use our questions and proprietary data to train third-party Artificial Intelligence models.
- Consequences: Violation of this clause will result in immediate account termination without refund, revocation of any public certifications ("Badges"), and potential legal action.
4. Referral Program and Rewards
- Eligibility Rules: Only active users with accounts in good standing may participate. A "Successful Referral" is strictly defined as a new user who registers via your unique link, completes any applicable trial period, and successfully pays for their first subscription cycle for an eligible plan.
- Fulfillment Process: Rewards are issued through our designated third-party reward fulfillment partners via a global catalog of Gift Cards. The referring user is responsible for providing a valid email address to receive the reward.
- Maturation Period and Minimum Payout: Rewards are not instantaneous. A validation period of 45 days after the referred user's successful payment is enforced to process redemptions and prevent chargeback fraud. A minimum accumulated balance of $10 USD is required to request a payout. Once requested, the processing and delivery of the reward will take up to 5 days.
- Zero Tolerance for Fraud: We reserve the absolute right to audit, withhold payments, or suspend accounts if we detect "self-funding" (creating fake accounts to refer oneself), the use of stolen credit cards, referral URL manipulation, or any behavior that violates the spirit of the program.
5. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
- No Guarantee of Employment or Official Passing: Certilum is a preparation tool. Reaching the "Master" level or achieving our Readiness Target does not guarantee that you will pass official third-party certification exams, nor do we guarantee job offers or career advancement.
- Service Availability (SLA): We provide the service on an "As Is" basis. While we strive for 99.9% uptime, we are not liable for service interruptions caused by cloud infrastructure outages, scheduled maintenance, or force majeure events.
6. Company and Contact Information
- Seller Identity: The platform is operated by Certilum LLC, registered at 1209 MOUNTAIN ROAD PL NE STE N, ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87110.
- Support and Inquiries: For any questions, technical support, or legal inquiries regarding these Terms, please contact us at support@certilum.com.

Exam Rules
1. Session Environment and Conduct
- Individual Effort: All exams and mini-tests must be completed strictly on an individual basis. The use of third-party assistance, live forums, or screen sharing during an active session invalidates the purpose of the assessment.
- Prohibition of External Tools: The use of automated scripts, browser extensions that inject answers, or the concurrent use of Artificial Intelligence tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) to solve questions is strictly prohibited. The platform's goal is to measure your knowledge, not the capabilities of an AI.
- Capture and Distribution of Questions: Reaffirming our Terms of Service, taking screenshots, recording the session on video, or mass copying/pasting question text for external distribution is strictly prohibited and constitutes grounds for immediate account suspension.
2. Evaluation Mechanics and Scoring
- Time Limits: Exam sessions operate under strict time limits (either per-question or globally, depending on the mode). Once the timer expires, the exam will be automatically submitted.
- Unanswered Questions: If the time expires or you submit the exam prematurely, all unanswered questions will automatically be recorded as "Not Answered" and will consequently be scored as incorrect. There is no additional penalty for guessing, but leaving a question blank guarantees a failure for that specific item.
- Adaptive Grading and Readiness Target: The platform utilizes algorithms to adjust difficulty levels and calculate your readiness status (e.g., progressing from "Novice" to "Master"). Intentionally manipulating the system (e.g., purposely failing to lower the difficulty level) distorts metrics and violates the spirit of the platform.
3. Interruptions and Session Stability
- Connection Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining a stable internet connection. If you close the browser, refresh the browser during an active session, or lose connection for an extended period, the ongoing session may be lost or partially submitted, negatively affecting your final score.
- Pauses: If the specific exam configuration allows pausing (e.g., in practice modes), you must use the official pause function provided in the interface. Abandoning the screen without pausing will continue to consume the remaining time.
- System Outages: In the rare event that a verifiable failure on Certilum's servers interrupts an exam, the affected session may be voided and will not negatively impact your progress metrics.
4. Penalties and Result Invalidation
- Session Invalidation: If our system detects anomalous response patterns (e.g., answering complex questions in milliseconds repeatedly), session anomalies, or any violation of these rules, we reserve the right to invalidate that specific exam session.
- Readiness Revocation: If a session is invalidated, your progress metrics will be automatically recalculated. This may result in a downgrade of your achieved readiness levels and the temporary revocation of any associated public credentials.
