Note from the vendor record: Exam retired August 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM Central Standard Time (exam page warning), and Microsoft's 'Exam and assessment lab retirement' page lists PL-200 with a retirement date of August 31, 2026; the certification page confirms the certification, related exam, and renewal assessments were retired the same day. Microsoft's transition notice ('The AI job boom continues', updated April 10, 2026) names Microsoft Certified: Intelligent Applications Builder Associate (Exam AB-410) as the related new credential (beta April 2026, expected go-live June 2026). No prerequisites are published (associate level, single exam) and renewal was a free annual online assessment every 12 months before retirement. Caveats: the exam page still displays 'Retirement date: none' in its Schedule section, contradicting the retirement banner, and registration closed on the retirement date. Official exam page
