Windows Server Hybrid Admin (Core) Exam Format
Everything the official exam blueprint specifies: question count, time limit, scoring and the weight each domain carries. The AZ-800 exam validates the skills required to manage Windows Server hybrid environments and earn the Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate credential. It focuses on deploying and managing AD DS in on-premises and cloud environments, managing Windows Servers and workloads in hybrid scenarios, deploying VMs and containers, implementing networking infrastructure, and configuring storage and file services. The exam uses performance-based and scenario-based questions that assess real-world administrative tasks. Candidates should be comfortable combining traditional Windows Server management with Azure-based tools such as Azure Arc, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure networking, and Azure Files.

Official domain weights
The percentage of the exam each domain carries. Weight your revision by these numbers, not by what you find hardest.

The heaviest domain is Manage storage and file services at 20%, and that is where lost points cost you the most. Certilum scores you per domain so you can see the difference between a knowledge gap and a formatting problem.
Note from the vendor record: Retires September 30, 2026 at 5:00 PM Central Standard Time per the exam page warning, and Microsoft's 'Exam and assessment lab retirement' page lists AZ-800 with a retirement date of September 30, 2026. Microsoft's Skills Hub transition notice (updated May 28, 2026) names the replacement: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator Associate (Exam AZ-802), beta July 2026 with training and exam expected August 2026. The Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate certification lists required exams AZ-800, AZ-801, and AZ-802; no formal prerequisites are published beyond recommended experience, and renewal is a free annual (12-month) online assessment. Caveats: the exam page still shows 'Retirement date: none' in its Schedule section despite the banner, English content was last updated January 21, 2026, and price is geo-dependent with taxes excluded.
