A structured study strategy is essential for success. Begin with the official AWS Advanced Networking Specialty exam guide and whitepapers (e.g., AWS Well-Architected Framework - Networking Pillar). Hands-on labs are critical; use AWS Free Tier or sandbox accounts to build and test VPCs, VPNs, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, and Route 53 configurations. Study BGP routing deeply, including AS-path prepending, prefix filtering, and route propagation. Review network security services (AWS WAF, Shield, Network Firewall) and automation tools (CloudFormation, CDK, Config). Practice with sample questions from AWS and third-party providers. Join study groups and forums for peer discussion. Budget 100-150 hours of study over 2-3 months targeting 80%+ on practice tests before the actual exam.
